Yeah, yeah I know what you are all thinking…not another blogger blogging about Sex and the City 2 but I finally saw it on the weekend and I really liked it!
Husband and I decided it was time for a “date night” so I dragged him to the movies. Actually, I’ll let you in on a little secret…I didn’t have to drag him…he used to love watching the TV series with me 😛 I am also going to dob in a close friend of his because while we were watching the 1st movie on DVD, husband and his friend laughed more than the girls did!
The opening scene began and sat in my chair excited to see the four girls and especially the fashion but when they all opened their mouths for their first speaking scene I sat back and thought “oh no”. I was taken aback as their humour was not really, in my opinion, up to scratch and I begged that it was going to get better and thank goodness it did. Yes, Samantha was very crude but you couldn’t help but have a little chuckle if not an outburst of hysterics at what her character was going through.
As per usual the fashions were spectacular. The sets were amazing. The men…oooh ahhh. And Carrie and Big’s apartment, especially their dressing room O.M.G.
I felt that Sex and the City 2 had a lot more to offer in a way that you could actually really relate to each character personally this time. We don’t have children but I could feel Charlotte’s agony as she locked herself in the pantry to cry. I could feel the disrespect that Miranda was experiencing at the law firm she worked for. Even though I am not 52 years old I could feel the pain that Samantha was going through with the changes in life that all woman are going to go through AND I could really understand the frustration that Carrie was experiencing in her relationship with Mr Big.
I wouldn’t say it was the best movie I have seen and that it deserves and Academy Award but I found it to be fun, refreshing and we had a good laugh. Husband gave it a thumbs up too!
