Blog This Challenge 37 – A Room With a View

Blog This Take a photo and/or share a photo of your favourite view.  Is it from your bed, a holiday, a local lookout? Why do you love it?

What is my favourite view? Lomani Resort, Plantation Island, Fiji

3 years ago my husband and I were invited to a wedding in Fiji. We had never been before and were a little worried about going seeing they were in the middle of a military coupe.

Luckily we didn’t let that change our minds. I have never been to a place that has welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to embrace such a beautiful culture. We stayed on the main island for half our stay and the other half on one of the islands. I am a city girl at heart. Give me a 5 star hotel with complete luxury any time. That is usually me but this time I realised I could relax and take in my surroundings and just see something for what it is and what it could offer.

I cried the day I had to leave that special place. The people were just amazing. The above photo reminds me every day to remember that there is more to life than expensive clothes, cars and houses. It also makes me appreciate life!

  1. Awww that is lovely! I would love to go to Fiji one day. I almost went when I was 20, but it was around the time there was a natural disaster, and I cancelled my trip for another year…which is still to come.

    It looks magical!

  2. It is magical. A bit of a shock to the system at first but when you get past how simple they are it is beautiful. That photo was taken from the beach of the resort we were on! I also have it on canvas in our entry at home.

  3. Oh that looks so peaceful. I felt the same way when we went to Samoa – its a nice reminder of how to be happy with very little but happiness itself.

    xxo
